Greetings friends. You may remember that last year at Le Mans, I (and mainly you!) raised approx £1200 for Macmillan. This was a tremendous achievement by everyone.
This year, I want to do it all again at Teesside for the British 24hr. I think that we can destroy last year's total bearing in mind there will be the usual 75 or so teams. Simple maths says that 10 quid a team makes £750. Imagine what we could do.
It seems so right this year that our community could put something back in to caring for the unwell, when all we seem to hear is one bad news story after another.
I would defy anyone to say they have never directly or indirectly been affected by cancer. Macmillan are the people who can deliver life changing care at the most difficult of times.
I'm a pharmacist for Boots and on a daily basis I see the difference Macmillan make to the people who need them. On the Tuesday after the race, I will take all of the cash we have raised to work. At 8.30am I will pay it into the till on Macmillan's account button. At 8.31am that cash is available for Macmillan to use to care for people.
Finally, Boots will put £500 in as well (as long as we make £500 - easy!)
In summary, I'm asking for your help at Teesside. Let's be proud of what we can do together.
Thanks in advance Steven Welsh MS SOCO #43
P.S. there is absolutely nothing in this for me!
