Hi Matt

We started on a TWS chassis and we've been karting for about 18 months now (my lad's 7 3/4 & also called Lucas funnily enough).
I went down the chasing engine performance route but it seems to me that so long as your engine is in the ballpark it's seat time that'll make the times drop (at our stage).

If you're looking for 10ths then that extra bit you get from the engine may help but we are now with a second of the podium guys and I can see where Lucas is losing time, just needs to improve driving.
That's not to say we wouldn't like the biggest engine out there, it all helps .
What we did fiind with the chassis was not to try to get grip as it always seemed to go better when it was very loose.
