Hi all,
This us my first month karting and its for fun so no rules or regs apply.
Im a newbie but here is what i done so far to the gx160.
De governed
Fitted gx140 valve springs
Skimmed the piston head
Fitted gx200 piston headgasket
Fitted 140 emulsion tube
Took every other blade off the fan
Fitted performance exhaust and performance air filter.
Went to track and it drove like a bag of poo.
The bloke at the track took the block apart and has fixed a few issue mainly compression. He said the kart will be real fast now but there is still some compression loss as the piston rings are shot so it is burning alot of oil.
Ive just bought a flat top puston and ut1 springs to fit.
I also just purchased tonight from a chap off ebay named brian an 8 degree advance timing key. Can soneone explain to me if can you feel a difference when the key is fitted? when does it start to work. I woukd like it to kick in around mid to top end. Also after with all the parts fitted will i notice a difference between my gx160 and say one thats just had the governor removed and a debaffled exhaust. or has everythibg ive dobe been pointless haha
