It was great to be back at race track. The winter break is far too long!! It was great to see several new drivers to the circuit joining our grid and with a number due out of hibernation from March I think this year is already feeling like a success.
Some fantastic racing throughout the field with the move of the meeting having to be young Keiran in his first prokart race to nail 2 of our far far more experienced drivers.
The weather played its part but slicks were the order of the day for 3 of the 5 races
Results:
1st Scot Abercrombie (MS/RPM) 2nd Ben Fallon (MS/RPM) 3rd Joel Clayton (MS/RPM).
The next round is 1st Sunday in March.
With regards to wet tyres Bridgestone have ceased to make the YDK. The importer Zip called me last week to say that they were getting a replacement flown over (YFD) in time for next month. Given this position I spoke with Bill, Anton and Guy and we agreed that the regulations be altered such that we will be able to run any of the 3 different tyre (ie including the Dunlop KT3) for the full season and we can take an informed decision on what to run in 2014. Talking to most of those today this seems like a sensible solution, however, if anyone has an app owing view please feel free to email or call me.
For those that haven't acquired Bridestone YDS skick yet Bob at Teesside as offered sets foc if you call at Teesside to collect them.
