As said previously this wont effect us but just a balanced thought as I get the impression some of the argument here is from those that already have bought Dunlops but look at it from a point of view from those that dont..

running both tyres then swapping after 3 months... Ive no idea which tyre is quicker at warden law but If over 20 laps both tyres prove to do the same lap time that isnt the full story, say in a race the dunlop tyre comes on faster and offers more grip in the first few laps a driver on other tyre is going to be at a disadvantage dropping back into the pack he might on lap 12 do the same lap time but over 12 laps the Dunlop turns out to be the quicker tyre to run on ,So those running with new bridgestone tyres wont be able to keep up, to be competitive drivers are then going to have to spend money on dunlops to use for the next 2 rounds then bin them ?

If you run two makes of tyre all year there is going to be times when one tyre will have an advantage over another, great if you have both!?

the attraction to run in a prokart class when we started racing was the cost and the closeness of racing but I personally think having multiple tyre choice spoils all this .

I dont envy the officials having to make a call on this as either way some drivers are going to be put out, but If I had been racing whatever the chosen tyre I would want it on one make the same as other circuits and be done with it from the first round. at one time our van was full of tyre bags having to carry 2 sets of bridgestones kartlines and dunlops to race 3 different places was crazy no other class is like that!

good luck in whatever is decided.

Jeff
