I race direct one of the regional finals (for the last 3 years) so i guess i am in some sort of position to comment. Please bare in mind this is based on my experience at the circuit i work at.

Practise times? Ring the circuit and book arrive and drive. I cannot recall if the drivers have any practice before their opening race.

Safety? The saftey is the same as it is for any a&d experience, full saftey briefing, equipment provided if needed. Insurance covered by the circuits own insurance.

Costs? No idea other than i know you pay one initial entry fee and every round you qualify for thereafter is free.

Motors/Karts? Varies by circuit since we dont all use the same karts.

Championships? Plenty of the drivers have won them in the past, we have seen some seriosuly quick drivers come through. Two years ago 3 different drivers dipped under the then lap record. Not really sure what you are asking here to be honest!

Travel? Dont quote me on this but i am pretty sure travel costs for the National final are met by the BSKC. Local and regional finals i believe are "your problem" although they are going to be very local to you.
