the cheaper ones aren't quick enough. you need one that gets a reading in under a second. Other wise your data isn't worth collecting.

You also need to correlate this with pressure increase and tyre wear, once you have this data and you know what to do with it you can get a good idea of the grip balance.

You need to spend good money on a decent pyrometer though to get the reading in good time.
