The upside to a potential restriction is more equal engine performance. Accordingly we wont get the disparity between a SP monster and a standard tuned version.

The engine builders already have this in their power to equalise output - they just need to agree how to achieve this and write the regs accordingly. The upside as described along with potentially cheaper cost with the downside being sightly less power.

I think I would accept that if it created a more equal playing field and we would see just how good some drivers are when they can't rely on a monster motor.
