The starts are anything but no-contact. I did 2 1/2 seasons in Senior Max and 1 in Biland and can only remember being hit on a start a couple of times. Starting on the outside was never a problem either as the mentality of the drivers was clearly different. If you started on the outside and were partially ahead of the kart on your inside, more often than not, a gap appeared to let you in before the esses. I certainly do this as I have respect for those I race against....but only leave enough room for one kart. I like to think this is what differentiates us from the average hire kart driver on a stag do.
Adam - I'm guessing you experienced the same when you raced Snr Max on Saturday.
At least if we go to standing starts, there will be a gap between 1st and 3rd and so on, giving those on the outside a chance.
