no offence to the top teams out there, their drivers are very VERY good, but you cant tell me that the likes of them would still be winning races and championships if they were on 10 year old chassis with standard engines straight out of a box....the shear difference in speed down the straight at somewhere like 3 sisters, pfi or teeside would negate their driving talent.
dont get me wrong david, i agree with you that the SP motors thing doesnt sit well, id rather see a class with people with identical engines and chassis to see who really are the best. however thats not karting, since the start of motorsport and karting engine tuners have been looking for advantages within the rules IN ALL CLASSES, you get it in 2 stroke racing aswell as 4 strokes....people choose different engine builders because they are better than others, and if people at the front go to SP motors then unfortunately others will follow.....
