In comparison with power figures quoted for other engines (race or industrial) about 7HP for a good race prepared GX160 is about right. Honda's figures for the standard engine (with governor) are irrelevant as they are artificially low. Effectively they quote less than the worst possible engine to prevent law suits in the USA, if anybody gets a bad batch. This is why the quoted output of all Honda industrial engines was reduced when the Tier 3 engines were launched. The GX160 went from 5.5HP to 4.8HP, even though the engine effectively became more powerful. Reading this back, I think I need to get a life lol.
