I work on these Honda GX engines & have had a few rockers go on 160’s 280’s & a 390.
Could be that the way the rocker works, as it ages they ware thin & eventually break or fold right through the middle. This break should not have affected the engine as the GX series is not a ‘close-fit’ engine.
No idea, or lots of ideas for lose of power when hot ???
