Using the aly Engine covers with the pump mounted under the top surface stops oil getting in the pump all but completely.

400-450ml is about right but it depends on the oil and the circuit you race at. Long sweeping corners like Teesside or PF require more than usual as the centripital force results in the oil washing up the crankcase.
