hi Alex, there are a few 4-stroke series and they all cater for different needs.

# The fastest engines are 250cc within the F6 Open Series (Biland, Swissauto, Ecomoto, Tech F1, Vampire and a few others,

# there are 200cc TKM four stroke engines raced at a few series

# another 200cc engine is the Briggs & Stratton which was built for the World Formula series.

# the twin engined Honda Prokart you mention. Prokarts are popular for sprints and endurance racing, with grids all over the U.K.

Which is best? Well that depends on where you want to race and what type of racing you fancy.
Sprinting is for just you whereas endurance is good for sharing costs and the experience of being in a team.

Prokarts can be maintained by yourself the 2oocc engines and the 250cc engines are mainly sealed and need returning to a suitable engine builder for rebuilds.(there are a few exceptions...)

My advice is to visit a few races and see what you fancy doing then ask more questions.
