Look at my other post above.
Your kart can be competitive whatever the age really a better question to ask would be how competitive can you be. If its a well sorted kart and been looked after properly you the potential to do well on it. i';ve raced brand new ms karts at three sisters and raced on ones 5 years old or so and won on them both. However, no matter what the circuit and kart dont expect to rock up with a brand new kart and blow the regulars into the wind it just isnt going to happen, you will have to work hard to get to the front and the chassis is one small aspect of that
