There 4 settings on the magnum clutch. What you ideally want is the soft setting for both. For the sprocket inboard the lug will be at the furthest left top. For out board sprocket however this is the hardest setting and as you look at the open side of the clutch as above the lug should be furthest right on the top shoe.

Blue springs are ok for standing starts however most will use the White spring. Would doubt that this is your problem
