It's always been a love relationship with me and the TKM 4 Stroke. Raced it since 2005 and we've never had a problem. Change the oil every meeting, and we rev ours to 11500 usually, sometimes higher.

Can't explain why some people are having problems with reliability, like I say we've never had an issue. I run mine in after a rebuild for longer than Tal-ko say and it never is pelted from cold, always keep it on the grid until it reaches 45 degrees. Perhaps this is why ours have lasted, and we've bought and sold around 5 engines now, so its not just a one-off. The engine numbers ranged from number 11 to 350 odd, so there wouldn't appear to be a problem with the age of the engine.

Sam, just because you are fed up with the class doesn't mean that everybody is. The class still can produce good grids, but it will struggle if you scare people out of it by saying there are no grids just because you're leaving. This happens every year. I'm sorry that you feel that you've had a bad experience.

There are not many classes around where any engine can win a race, and this is one of them. Most of the speed is in the chassis and the driver. The class is competitive at the front and yeah the grids are not massive, but as long as the current competitors remain, anybody entering next year would find it's by no means easy to win and will find it challenging, but fair and not stupidly expensive. Surely this is what most people want.
