You have not told us enough to be able to answer that. Yes you do need side pods if you are using it at a proper race circuit..... It's justy possible that some un-regulated, non-MSA (our governing body is the MSA) track might JUST allow you to drive without pods.

Where do you want to use it? Where are you in the country? What's your nearest track? Etc..
