In short - yes.

If you calculate your present ratio, with 20T clutch and 62T rear, you have a ratio of 62/20 = 3.1 (i.e. 3.1 engine revs to 1 axle rev)

If you swap the clutch sprocket to 16 T, the ratio becomes 62/16 = 3.875

This is quite a big jump though, and you may want to experiment with something in between.
If you guess at ratio 3.5:1 then 16T(front sprocket) x 3.5 = 56T(rear sprocket)

I'm not vastly experienced in karting, but I do gearing for a living ;)

Hope this helps.
Phil
