My point for supporting the use of additives [assuming they are not a health risk] is that such products exist and cheats will always be tempted to use them...so why not eliminate any doubt and let everybody use them, if they wish to? They are, after all, only products designed to enhance the performance of the engine or tyre, etc, and isn't that what motor sport is all about?

In a "no additives allowed" situation you can only be 100% sure that nobody cheats by having the fuel/oil/tyres supplied by the officials at parc ferme. The current system presumes that all additives are detectable........!
