I think that the reason for introducing the tyre could be looked at a different way: i.e withdrawing the Red slick because it doesn't make commercial sense to continue with it due to the comparatively small numbers.
I do agree with the promotion especially getting cadets to try it. Most who I have seen try it prefer it to anything else.
