Hi Adam.
Your question is a bit confusing. This is the 4 stroke forum but, isn't the EVX more usually used as a 2 stroke chassis?
Can I suggest a couple of things to help you get answers:
1) post the question in the 2 stroke forum 2) Give a title which GUIDES the right people TO you question. 95% of messages here are about people needing help.... thus 'can you help' doesn't help those of us who LIKE to help locate your question. Try this as a title:
Tony EVX chassis wear
3) Try to use some punctuation: I honestly can't be sure I understand what you are asking. The punctuation breaks the question into pieces that help us understand the meaning. The easier it is for us to understand your question, the more likely we are to want to help.
I THINK you question is: 'will the wear on the undreside of my chassis affect the handling?'
The answer is: 'yes..... and no'
If there is a large amount of wear, then it WILL affect it.... BUT.... if you are a newbie to racing, then you will not be good enough yet to FEEL the difference. After a year or two, then you MIGHT be able to notice it. At the moment, mopst of your 'slowness' really WILL be down to your driving and NOT the waer on your chassis. Newbies won't be able to notice the FEEL of a 'worn chassis' until it's SEVERE..... quick drivers MIGHT be able to tell if the rails are 50% worn through (i.e., half the wall-thickness)
The wear is caused by one simple thing.... tracks/Clerks-of-Courses REFUSING to deal with the problem of people jumping over and/or 'riding' kerbs! Until the rules ARE enforced SENSIBLY then EVERY second-hand chassis or any NEW chassis that's more than a few hours old WILL show such marks! The amount of time you chassis has spent ON the kerbs will control how worn it is! The ONLY realy solution is to replace the chassis rails regularly.... and expensively.... or buy a NEW chassis every few months..... which is what the QUICK boys ARE doing..... all becasue they WON'T stay OFF the KERBS..... Utter MADNESS............
Good Luck.
Ian
