So by that you're saying that some out the box engines could be non-race legal? By virtue of having over long rods. If that's true and I doubt it, the implication is that all engines will need to be SP's in future, if you are to have confidence in them conforming. That would be good for RPM, but not so good for everyone else.

Personally, I think the only truly out of spec rods are those that have been modified from the undersize part that's available.

As for Trev's comments about the French, most sensible thing I've seen him say.
