WHAT is the 'additive': Redex? Glue? Sugar? Octane booster? Tadpoles?

It's more likely to be that you have your jetting all-to-cock or you have nasty air leaks. 'Bangs' on over-run are usually caused by air entering the exhaust or the jetting being too WEAK on over-run.
