You will never get away with the need to strip a motor to verify what might be wrong, however, what if only those motors that show to be outwith the accepted non-invasive checks that get this treatment? The rest don't have to pay for a rebuild and thise that don't will invariably be found out anyway.

I am all for it. The engine builders need not worry if they run to the Honda regs - big ish isn't good enough!
