Well, your previous answer mentioned 'confusions' and other readers may have thought you were aiming that at me and NOT those who hold 'axle stiffnesses' as being some sort of 'sacred cow'.

From earlier conversations with you (and others) I got the impression that the claims of MASSIVE effects just by changing the 'axle material' were total B*LL*CKS and I just wanted that confirmed. Any PRACTICAL change in stiffness MUST come from axle diameter (30mm, 40mm or 50mm, or WALL thickness!

I take your point on dynamic 'hardness' and the damping effects. But that's NOT to do with the STIFFNESS, is it?
