I see a few people have misunderstood my problem.

Its not the bolts that hold the caliper to the chassis its the caliper itself

The ms brake caliper isn`t self adjusting and therefore comes in 2 halves allowing the user to add or remove shim spacers as and when needed.

Now the previous owner of the kart had run the old pads very low and had removed ALL the shim spacers allwoing the 2 halves of the caliper to touch .

As i am now fitting new pads i need to add spacing shims inbetween the 2 halves but i cant do this as they seem to be stuck solid , so what im asking is has anyone got any suggestions on how i can split the 2 halves !!

cheers sj
