Mark,
The last I spoke with Adrian while the clubman race was still ongoing I was advised, as Adam's driver representative, that Adam was not disqualified. Adam was with me at the time. How come this position has changed again?
I have never really witnessed any of this first hand before but what I saw at PF on Sunday was an absolute disgrace and the manner with which it has been handled by the officials, thus far (although I doubt anything further will come of this), is less than satisfactory. The real shame of it is the racing was great to watch and from my standing point one the new gantry at the bottom of the circuit I didn't see any incident that was deserving of a warning flag, never mind a black.
Equally I didn't witness Adam being rammed off the track on the slow down lap but others must have. Applying the MSA logic to this (which I know can be dangerous) would result in at least and endorsement and worthy of an exclusion there and then.
However, to see first hand the same driver's behavior in the paddock where I was witness to a physical assault on Adam whilst he was still sitting in his kart was without doubt the most despicable reaction I have seen this year. And what get's done by the CoC? an exclusion from the final - this has to be the most inappropriate action ever. Applying MSA logic (same caveat) physical abuse would attract a 12 month ban and a fine, however, even at non-MSA series and circuits that I have been involved with over the years similar acts have resulted in a life time ban (and on one occasion an assault charge instigated by the circuit operators). So a simple exclusion is not adequate justice in my view and is inconsistent with the MSA whom have to be used as an appropriate reference for precedent. Once again the actions of the officials (or lack of them) completely dis-credits the whole PF series and adds to the catalog of similar weak actions that have been given out in the recent past. Perhaps this is why very few drives speak highly of the race series but why they turn out every month is beyond me. Assault and abuse against anyone in attendance (driver, mechanic or supporter) can not be condoned and idiots that for any reason decide to react in such an adverse manner must pay the consequences. At which point does it stop, once the police become involved? Would you really want to be associated with an event that pays lip service to assault, never mind the actions on the track? I certainly don't and what made it worse was the supporters in the awning did nothing to stop it!!
And Mark it does make a difference. Add back the points Adam should rightfully have for the final and he is still third. Unless I am mistaken with dropped rounds, however, this isn't may point. What I am more concerned about is the reason given against my driver's name for his on/off disqualification. Given that neither my driver or myself as representative were not officially told of the this subsequent decision how can this stand. I protested the initial decision and Adrian overturned it in our favor yet it has revert to something else!! It beggars belief. And then for the term "ungentlemanly conduct" to be appended to the results detailed on here I wonder if this could be considered libelous? It is not your fault I acknowledge as you simply publish what you have been given and I am not in any way having a go at you but it is simply a complete farce.
Luckily there is no lasting damage to either my driver or the chassis but if this stops anyone from considering PF next year then something good has come from it.
