There are 2 schools of thought on this subject and it has been debated more times than you will imagine.

The sensible approach is to take it easy, gradually building up revs and changing the oil loads. I have not done this justice but you can read the full Brian P article on the technical setion on this web site. Done it a couple of times with some new motors that ended up ok.

Or

you use some cheap oil and thrash the hell out of them for half an hour (changing the oil) and then hammer them for the next 30 mins, flush oil and install Coolpower oil. Done this on my current beasts and they are huge!!
