In theory you would go in at the rear to obtain more grip but you can go too far. To test keep the front constant at say 20mm and move in 5 mm at a time and see the difference - try firstly with the bumper loose and then repeat with it tight. Run a minimum of 10 laps at a time keeping everything else the same (including tyre pressures). Your driver will need to provide feedback to get it exact but you will be able to see quite a bit just from observing the kart and driver input. It takes a while but it is worth it.
