Is there a method of working out the optimum length for a chain based on the teeth of the clutch and sprocket??

I've read somewhere that you should add the teeth on the front to the amount of teeth on the sprocket and add 10 to give the amount of chain links ... e.g.

19 (Clutch teeth) + 76 (Sprocket teeth) + 10 = 105 chain links

Is this a good guide?? Or does anyone have any other ways of working it out??

Cheers!!
