Greame, for a change it is nice for you not to be putting me and Teesside down! Anyway, critisism can be more benificial than praisemost of the time.

I would love to have an engine scrutineer at every round however I do have a few constraints. Firstly is time - the meetings don't finish until 9:30pm at the earliest meaning that after taking a couple of engines apart and rebuilding them people would still be at the track come 10:30 or later. In my opinion that is too late!

Another issue is money and availability. There are not many people I'd trust to act as a Honda scrutineer. Also Kelvin is from down South so would cost me at least a couple of hundred quid for travel expenses and accomodation to get him up here even if he wasn't occupied else where.

For next year I am planning on more spot checks similar to last month (taking an engine to check a week later). However, the problem with that is having to impound a competitors engine for checks at a later date. This gives it's own problems. I will have to supply any competitor with an engine to use if they are racing in the next week or two. This is something I am willing to do.

So in response to the question of how often? The answer from Teesside is for next year, more checks than this year. Hopefully this will be enough of a deterent to stop people knowingly running modded engines which should bring in more drivers. More drivers means more income which inturn gives more revenue to spend on more scrutineering.
