Hi shaun, best bet is to order the MSA start pack with all you need to know on where/when/how to book ARKS test, i would suggest practicing for a while before taking it obviously when i took mine back in 2002 there was a minimum requirement in terms of ability obviously. After that, it depends which direction your son wants to take and if he wants to pursue it into MSA racing, F6 usually has decent prokart grids :)http://www.startkarting.co.uk/ this might help, best of luck
