id be careful reading anything into the results/conclusions

this is a sales device for star-ccm+ and shows the modelling/meshing capabilities rather than any serious findings

in the 2nd config there is more area presented to the flow so you would expect more drag. you would also expect more cooling.

they fact that the downforce is doubled should make you realise that it is very small.

give that config 1 allowed the engine and brakes to work fine i would prefer it over the 2nd config! i.e. less drag.

none of this cfd analysis is validated against test data!

some nice pretty pictures though :)
