I wouldnt advise you to cut your seat because as far as i know only 7karts do that. I have my seat level with the bottom of the chassis and as far back as possible.

To get your seat level stick your kart on top of your trolley and slide a bit of long wood under the middle of the kart. then place the seat on where you would want it so it is resting on the wood. Then just drill holes into the seat when you are happy with it.

You want your seat angled backwards as well about 55 degrees.
