I caveat this post with the fact that I am new to MS myself but here goes.

Firstly the kingpin inclination angle is 15 degrees assuming you have both top and bottom with round inserts. Now the principal will be the same for each of the inserts but let's just consider the 2 for now. What this provides is the opportunity to increase or decrease castor by 2 degrees. If you look at the insert the hole is offset from the centre. Inserting it in the top with the 2 facing forward has the affect of increasing the castor angle by 2 degrees - ie to 17 degrees. Spin this round 180 degrees and it has the affect of reducing the standard castor angle of 15 degrees to 13.

The other inserts simply allow the same type of adjustment just in smaller increments.

There is a really good article on the technical section of the web site that decribes front end geometery - takes a couple of reads but if you are at the stage of asking this kind of question it might help a little.

Graeme

PS these inserts can also adjust camber angles but lets not go there yet
