My two brand new magnum clutches are set on no.4 setting out of the box ie. "for rapid engagement and low weight starts".I have got both fixed on the engines on outboard position,ie.open side of clutch drum against engine. Went to Teesside Sunday to try new RPM engines and clutches, one was banging really bad, thought it was the engine until told it was the clutch.Have looked at the "shoe setting options"sheet supplied with the clutches and think that setting no.3 might be favourite "for smooth gradual engagement and average to high weight starts..I am total weight 186k What do you think?. As I need to adjust to whatever position, how do I do it? Do I need to punch out spring retaining pins to release shoes ? I know I could turn both clutches to inboard to acheive no.1 setting but why should I have to do this. There are no instructions supplied with the new clutches and I have searched web sites to no avail. Also can anybody advise on max. rpm for the new rpm engines. Was pulling 5800 at the end of langbaurgh straight on 68t sprockets 20 primary ,can I add a couple of teeth .Hope you can help me Regards David
