The Gx160 carb is dead simple and if kept clean should run trouble free.

The "hunting" you describe is probably dirt in the pilot jet (the black one under the idle screw). Remove the idle screw and remove the jet and blast with carb cleaner and air. I would be inclined to strip the rest of the carb and do the same with every other nook and crannie.

Set up - there is very little to do. The idle screw simply adjusts the tick over and set this at around 1700 revs. The air screw (if it not fitted with the tamper tab) should be set at around 2-2.5 turns from fully in.

That's it!

Can't help with the clone items but would have thought they would be a straight swap.
