Water temperature should be above 80 while driving at full pace, but below 86.

Best to warm it up to 60 before going out, but if you lack time, go slow on the first lap covering the radaitor with your left arm, as Anwar pointed out before.

When its wet you'll most likely need more tape on the radaitor but you'll must likely never need to cover more than 3/4s of the rad.
