Having thought things through since the discusion prior to last months meeting, here are my thoughts.
Given the numbers at present, I think that there should only be a 'Pro' class and a 'Clubmans' class. I do not think that there is any real need or demand for a 'heavyweight' class at the moment but it could be accommodated if necessary. Trophies should be awarded to the top 2 or 3 in each class.
Then you have the debate about defining Pro versus Clubman. My view is that any driver who has finished third or above in any heat or final at Warden Law in the last three years should be classified as a Pro, anyone else would be eligible to enter as a clubman.
If you start the season as a clubman and finish in the top three of any race that season, you should still remain in the Clubman class for the rest the year. The following year you would automatically move up to the Pro class.
This would give the up 'up and coming' drivers something to aim for every month.
Given that there are separate classes and awards for junior and senior World Formula, I do not think that this is an unreasonable proposition, particularly when you take into account that Prokarts are still the best supported class at Warden Law over a full season.
This is intended as a starting point for open discussion. I suggest that the Prokarters get together again, just like last month, to agree on the way ahead to help grow the class.
Cheers
