No I certainly hadnt found a unicorn, but I know what you mean!.....I should have said "well known".....I didnt want to upset them and I didnt feel the name was relevant, as I'm sure all are doing the same from what I hear.
£5K for an engine is nothing compared to what top Rotax motors changed for in S1 in years gone by, £10-20K was not uncommon, and I think the engine builders miss those days, they can only make so much money doing rebuilds, but if you sell the odd front running motor here and there for £5K, or more, and they know there are plenty of dads who will willingly pay £5K, so thats what they do.
Only way to stop it is with pooled engines (with exhausts & ancillaries) owned by the series organiser, and randomly drawn at each round, but that will never happen.
