Hi, if your question is actually; how do I get my lad/lass further up the grid with a better engine, have a look at who's running what at your clubs & area that they've paid for (rather than hire/are on a 'team' motor) & build a relationship with that company. You won't get the same motor spec/performance as the top S1 teams are getting from Force etc. anyway and you certainly won't on the basis of just using them for the 1st time as all that does is P off their existing long term customers/teams however it is their shop window so I accept it is relevant but you need to understand in what context, hence why you hear about the stupid figures that they change hands for when someone does get a S1 winning motor. But it still might be an improvement on what you have so that's true as well. In terms of F1, think why no Mercedes team beats/gets close the works team or why Ron Dennis, love him or hate him, said McLaren would never win a championship with a customer engine. You will get a good engine from Force certainly, but you may get a better one from someone else that knows club racing is their show window & will help you make it better as a great motor with a crap carb set up is worthless so you may learn other things with a more direct relationship. Some of the best IAME cadet club motors are from the smaller companies for that reason as the builder is in the paddock a lot of the time. Just a personal thought but it's been the same for 40 years so it won't change any time soon ! So I say the best motor builder may not be the best for what you need, you don't see Fusion etc coming on this forum telling anyone what the hot tip is for a wet set up when the question comes up do you, don't expect the top motor people to give you their best product. Hopefully the other answers will be based on personal experience, not what wins at S1 as that's not relevant to you, in my opinion.
