Because Rotax was a global product and their global rules meant that commonality of product was more important than having a UK variant?

Just as the x30/UK engine is the same spec, performance and rules as the X30 World series, the Iame x30 main fiche, and won't change just because a few drivers in the UK want to do things differently.

Of course, if the changes would have been popular, it might be odd that no-one at club level sought a technical exemption for their 'local' class, but one suspects that not enough drivers were concerned to reach club committee agreement.
