Thanks Alan. Drum fits over block comfortably with no interference. Washers and bearings are set up as you and the manual describe. There is a small amount of axial play with O-ring installed. If I remove this I assume longer bearing should then be installed? I believe the problem is related to the expansion of the block at too-low revs or may be this early engagement on the stand is a characteristic of this new-type clutch?
