Well a big thanks to Tal-ko with how they've sorted this out for me. Having taken the whole engine install back they've done a thorough check over it all and found a spot on the main cable that had chaffed through and likely caused the short. They've kindly offered to pick up the costs which is generous of them. So all round thumbs up from me.
