Agreed, sorry wrong use of terminology.

What I meant was that if your thermometer reads 0 a few feet above the ground, it is quite possible for the kart to encounter much lower temperatures in the not very distant vicinity or for those temperatures to move around with the wind.

Also, at temperatures close to its freezing point, there is a tendency for the mixtures to form slush, as in slush-puppy.
