I believe faster is better based purely on experience having experienced the faster starts of the past and the dead slow starts that are encouraged currently.

The tracks and karts have not changed in the slightest from the mid to late nineties to now.

Measured and published incident data is interesting but sounds to me like a minefield and open to manufacture, lots of clubs are struggling for entries.

Agreed we want to get through the first corner bottleneck, so faster starts with spread out karts equals no bottleneck.
