Ok, I'm going to put in my opinion.

We are relative newbies, not racing since the 60's, I don't remember what it was like in the "good old days", and frankly I don't give a tinkers cuss - everything looks better in sepia.

This was our first S1 meeting after just over a year of low-level club meetings, and to be honest I was dreading it, especially having been to the last two Rowrah club rounds.

I was/remain completely impartial to standing starts, having never experienced them before, but all I know is there were no first-corner incidents (in Honda at least), and no red flags. Everyone got a fair chance of competing in the race, and there was no lottery at the start.

It was the most exciting racing I have seen in Honda (albeit I have seen less than most of you), mainly because the whole grid made it to the end (more or less).

So to those of you saying it's making drivers into pansies, I'd rather my son came home in the van, not an ambulance.

To those of you saying it ain't like it used to be, maybe that's a good thing.

To those of you saying RIP Super One - to those just coming into the sport with their young kids - i.e. the future of the sport - I think many would agree that anything we can do/try to keep them safe, while still getting good racing is to be welcomed.
