OH bringer of doom and gloom!
Too much guessing going on for you Ian.
Clutches are steel these days, none ajustable.
If it becomes a consumable wearing part, you can bet your bottom dollar that it will be replaced by any entrant to the S1 or O plate.
Let us say the drivers are all to blame for this loading and start jumping, which I agree, so hit them hard. I'm not having a pop at the marshalls but they seem to be on the instruction/orders to turn a blind eye to small contact and that is the start of the rot setting in. ANY CONTACT IS NOT ALLOWED, IF YOU MAKE CONTACT THEN YOU WILL BE PENALISED. If you cant get passed him without touching then he is a better driver than you and deserves to be in front of you.
Another gripe I have witnessed was, when the race has finished as per passed the chequered flag, I saw drivers slowing down deliberately waiting for somebody that had made his life difficult earlier in the race, then, when said subject cruises innocently past him he rammed him 45 degree T bone, if I had been a marshall the lad would have packed his bags and been sent home.
As for these rolling starts/loading, if people are insistant on that style then the chamionship governers or the karting govs. should produce another gadget, as previously mentioned. A layer of alluminum foil velcro-ed to the front nose cone full width every time contact is made a signal it sent to a PC. 2 strikes and your penalised.
