At a guess, the margins are not big enough for them to make a profit so there is no point in them pushing people into it. Many karters, particularly newbies, are guided by their local traders or pit myth or the desire to be in the coolest class. The fact is that all the main classes require exactly the same skills to drive, the differences are mainly rubber and power curve.

The X30 is just a bigger Blue with, currently, more hype and more people with a vested interest pushing it.

Additionally, as Hi99 points out, what used to be the core clubs of the ABkC in the Midlands refused point blank to run the class. At one Kartmania the Shenington rep told me that Hell would freeze over before some Committee members allowed an "NKRA class" to run on their track. There seems to have been a lot of politics there, though perhaps that can change.

As for whether or not it is S1, the FB national Championship is of exactly the same standing and standard as S1, (except that by running a Nat B licence the FB champs allows Novices to enter as well. It is however a lot cheaper, Ł60 to register and Ł75 for each round, no special fuel, no 'parc ferme' tyres. (except at the 'O plate and Grande Finals, at the request of a particular club).
